Vestibular syndrome is a common presentation in dogs and cats with neurological signs. Most patients present acutely and have marked neurological deficits, which can be extremely upsetting for owners. Despite this, the majority of patients with vestibular syndrome have a good prognosis. This talk gives an overview of vestibular syndrome, then discusses how to give a problem-orientated differential diagnosis, and finally outlines a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, including those that can be achieved in a first-opinion setting.
