Carlos enjoying the gift of sight!
13 April 2016
During December we told you the story of Carlos, a beautiful young dog, who was referred to us with a severe eye problem.
Carlos was seen by our ophthalmology (eye) and oncology (cancer) Specialists as his usual vet suspected a cancerous condition involving the eye.
James Elliott, one of Willows oncology Specialists, could see that Carlos had a major problem straight away and agreed with the first opinion vet that Carlos could have cancer and after further testing this was confirmed. Unfortunately the tests confirmed his worst suspicion – Carlos had lymphoma.
Carlos has been receiving chemotherapy for his aggressive lymphoma (cancer of the lymphocytic cells) for several months now. He responded completely and very well to his chemotherapy and is now on medication at home to try and help keep it at bay. He recently came in for a check-up and all his blood tests were normal and there was no evidence of the lymphoma coming back.
We do hope that Carlos continues to do well!
