A new member for our Neurology Team

1 April 2016

Alex Hamilton - MA VetMB MACVS (Small Animal Surgery) MRCVS - Resident in Veterinary Neurology

Alex Hamilton
MA VetMB MACVS (Small Animal Surgery) MRCVS
Resident in Veterinary Neurology

We are delighted to welcome Alex Hamilton MA VetMB MACVS (Small Animal Surgery) MRCVS to our Neurology Team, where he will be working alongside Sebastien Behr DVM DipECVN MRCVS, Lorna Arrol MA VetMB DipECVN MRCVS, James Elford BVetMed MRCVS and Sinead Bennett BSc (Hons) BVetMed (Hons) MRCVS.

Alex graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2005 and following 3 years working in mixed practice in the UK, he moved to Australia where he initially worked in emergency and critical care. Alex then completed a 1 year surgical internship at the Animal Referral Hospital in Sydney before completing a European college approved residency in Neurology at the University of Melbourne.

Alex then relocated to Saudi Arabia where he worked for an oil company, looking after the employees dogs, cats and horses, before moving to Birmingham in January this year, along with his Saudi Arabian rescue cat, Lammington (who surely must be feeling a little chilly!). Alex is very excited to be completing his European Diploma in Neurology and Neurosurgery at Willows.

Alex has a special interest in degenerative myelopathy and inflammatory brain disease, and together with our neurology team, they provide a complete neurology service and are happy to see patients with any neurological problems, including those with neuromuscular, spinal or brain diseases.
