Going the Distance to Visit Willows
25 May 2016
As you may have already seen from our news stories this month, we are highlighting National Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month.
Willows encourage veterinary nurses to come and see practice with us and gain an insight into what our nurses do and the specific roles they have within our specialised centre.
Heather wanted to go the extra mile and come and visit us all the way from Guernsey, we were delighted that she joined us for a few days last week.
Here is what Heather said about her visit to Willows:
"I am currently studying towards the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing and I was delighted to have the opportunity to see practice at Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service. I believe this experience will help me to develop clinically, as well as bring some great experience back to my practice. Living in the small Island of Guernsey reduces the opportunity to see different practices, therefore to visit a state-of-the-art veterinary practice and being in a specialist environment with exposure to cases handled by clinicians who are experts in their field will be an invaluable experience. Members of my practice have also visited the centre and have encouraged me to visit as ‘it is a must see and a great demonstration of best practice. I would like to thank all the staff at Willows for making me feel so welcome while I visited the practice for two days. Willows is an amazing place to visit and is filled with friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. I have gained so much from this visit and thoroughly enjoyed it."
