The Votes Are In!

12 April 2017

As part of Willows commitment to charity, each quarter we donate £1,000 to good causes. Over the past few months, our clients have been given a token when they visited the practice and asked to vote for one of our three chosen charities; Guide Dogs, Pet Blood Bank and Cramar Cat Sanctuary. The proportion of votes received for each charity determined the share of £1,000 that has been donated to each charity by Willows.

The votes are now in and we are delighted to announce that the Guide Dogs received £400 and both the Pet Blood Bank and Cramar Cat Sanctuary received £300.

Guide Dogs is a registered charity which breeds and trains guide dogs. They provide life-changing mobility for those who are blind and partially-sighted. The full lifetime cost of a guide dog from birth to retirement currently stands at £48,800, all of which comes from donations.

Solihull branch organisers Tony and Pat Revell said: “We are very thankful to Willows and their clients for their support. The donation will go towards helping guide dog owners and puppy walkers in the local area.

Pet Blood Bank, based in Loughborough, were delighted with their donation. Pet Blood Bank said “Willows Referrals and Veterinary Service regularly host donation sessions with our brilliant lifesavers to ensure that blood products are available to sick and injured dogs around the country. We are so grateful for their support - as both a host venue and for their help in raising vital funds for PBB. As a charity, we rely on the support of others and fundraising really does make a difference to us. A huge thank you from everyone at PBB for your generous donation of £300!

Cramar Cat Sanctuary relies on donations alone to provide care and shelter for cats in need and they were very happy to receive their donation so they can help more cats that desperately need care.

Willows have chosen to support Dogs for Good (formerly known as Dogs for Disabled), Cats Protection and Hollytrees Animal Rescue for our second quarterly donation - so when you visit, remember to pick up a token at Reception and cast your vote.
