Feline Specialist Status for our Special(ist) Vet Steph!

12 March 2017

Willows are delighted to announce that Stephanie Lalor, RCVS and European Specialist in Internal Medicine, has recently been awarded RCVS Specialist status in Feline Medicine. We are thrilled that Stephanie has been credited with the recognition she deserves.

An officially recognised veterinary Specialist is an individual who has had advanced training, leading to Diploma status in their field of expertise and who also fulfils other rigorous criteria, such as participation in clinical work and research, as well as other responsibilities including the training of others involved in the veterinary profession. Specialist vet status is extremely difficult both to achieve and to maintain, and it is the highest level of recognition of expertise that can be attained in clinical veterinary work.

Stephanie is proud to offer a feline-specific internal medicine clinic at Willows; these clinics are tailored for individual patient and client needs and reduce the stress for our feline friends. The clinics cover a diverse range of medical conditions. Following the initial assessment and treatment, ongoing care is tailored for each patient. This often involves follow up examinations, including blood work, urinalysis and blood pressure, and where possible will be done in the owner’s presence. The frequency of these follow up examinations will be adjusted to the patient’s needs. Referring vets will receive a detailed written report after each visit.
