Can you guess the breed?

8 March 2017

Can you guess the breed of this beautiful cat?

Can you guess the breed?

This cat is a Savannah, this breed was originally created in 1986 through a cross between a domestic short-haired cat and an African Serval. The resultant kitten (and breed) was named Savannah. Breeders have since produced second generation crosses without the direct parentage of a Serval.

Here are some beautiful photos of a Savannah cat that comes to visit us in our primary care clinic. As you can see from the photos the breed are bigger than most cats and the largest of this client's cats weigh 9.7kg. The bodies of Savannahs are long and leggy – giving them the ability to jump very high. They are curious, assertive cats, who seek adventure but they are also very loyal and form very strong bonds with their humans. They may not be lap cats, but they will show you affection in many other ways and love to play games.
