Willows gets in the festive spirit for charity
26 December 2018
During the past few weeks our amazing team have not only cared for your pets with the dedication and passion that they remain committed to all year round but they have also been getting involved in festive activities in order to raise money for charity.
The team have been stirring up a feast to take part in the ‘Great Willows Festive Bake Off’. We have all probably gained a few inches from tasting all the amazing cakes that have been on offer and the effort that was put into all the bakes was fantastic.
One of our nurses was awarded the winning title with her Guinness and Chocolate cake which was described as ‘absolute heaven’! Our primary care vet Georgina came a very close second with her chocolate orange muffin and our client care manager Amber sold the most slices of cake with her rocky road which was described as stunning!
Julie was delighted to be the winner and her reward (as well as a bottle of wine) was choosing a registered charity to donate the funds to. The total funds raised were £234.15 and this was sent to Alzheimers and dementia care charities.
Here is a selection of photos from the competition - unfortunately we didn’t quite capture them all before they were eaten and only crumbs remained!
In addition to eating lots of cake, Friday 14th December was National Christmas Jumper Day and not wanting to miss an opportunity to raise more funds for charity, many of our Willows family donned their Christmas jumpers and donated generously for the privilege.
Our primary vet Georgina pulled out all the stops and transformed herself into an elf for the day and was declared the winner for best festive attire! A total of £70 was donated by staff taking part in the day and this was matched by the practice. As the winner Georgina was asked to nominate a charity, she chose Midlands Air Ambulance who have now received a £140 donation.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our team forgetting involved and donating a grand total of £374.15!
