We are seeking an Oncologist to join our multi-disciplinary team of over 50 veterinary surgeons. The successful applicant will either hold or be eligible for an RCVS, European or American Diploma (or equivalent) and share our aim of providing the best possible levels of care for clients, their pets and for referring veterinary surgeons.
We have an excellent team of highly skilled nursing and support staff who give our clinicians the opportunity to concentrate on their clinical caseload and to work in a pleasant and supportive environment. Facilities are impressive and include a dedicated chemotherapy room, superbly equipped intensive care unit and wards to accommodate over 100 hospitalised patients – in-patient care is a priority and includes 24 hour veterinary and nursing attention from dedicated nurses and experienced interns. Our GE imaging equipment, including 1.5T MRI, 16 slice CT and high-end ultrasound, is run by our team of on-site board certified imaging Specialists, providing unsurpassed diagnostic imaging support to all our clinicians.
The oncology team consists of Medical Oncology Specialist Chiara Penzo, and Surgical Oncology Specialist Stephen Baines who is a Recognised Specialist in both Small Animal Surgery and Veterinary Oncology. It is expected that you would also work closely with our five Internal Medicine clinicians, as well as our other specialists in the disciplines of Neurology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Imaging, Cardiology, Dermatology and Anaesthesia. Our philosophy is very much one of friendly collaboration between clinicians in every specialism. Participation in an out-of-hours oncology emergency service would be expected.
The position will be very well remunerated and the package includes six weeks’ holiday, two weeks’ allowance for generously funded CPD, one week's allowance for involvement in professional committees, membership of a company pension scheme and a staff benefits scheme and private healthcare.
Willows is centrally located within easy reach of Birmingham Airport and the national rail and motorway networks, but only a short drive away from historic Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and beautiful Warwickshire countryside.
