Dermatology Service atWillows
We are delighted to announce that we will be offering a Specialist-
from March 2015.
is joining Willows on a full-time basis and will be available to see
referred cases for a wide variety of dermatological problems, as well as to give telephone
advice for those cases which may not be suitable for referral.
After qualifying at Cambridge, Jon initially spent a number of years working in both small
animal practice in Surrey and in charity hospitals in the West Midlands, during which time
he developed a very keen interest in dermatology. He subsequently trained as a resident
at the RVC and went on to obtain the European Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology and
European Specialist status.
Jon is interested in all aspects of dermatology, and enjoys the challenges that are
associated with managing patients with skin disease. He is particularly interested in ear
problems as well as parasitic and allergic skin diseases, and he undertook a study on food
allergy during his residency training. Jon is delighted to be part of the Specialist team at
Willows, providing a multi-disciplinary approach and the highest standards of support and
care for our patients, owners and referring veterinary surgeons.
Jon will be involved in Willows’ CPD programme for 2015. His first evening CPD forum will
be held on Tuesday 21st April, looking at the assessment and management of chronic ear
disease. He is also hosting a dermatology Clinical Club at Willows on Wednesday 3rd June

RCVS and European Specialist in
Small Animal Surgery
FIFTH SPECIALISTTO JOINTHE ORTHOPAEDICTEAM
Due to continued expansion, we are very pleased
to announce that RCVS and European SmallAnimal
Surgery Specialist, Scott Rutherford DipECVS, will
be joining our team inMarch 2015.After graduating
fromGlasgow in 2001 Scott worked inmixed and
small animal practice for five years. Having obtained
the RCVS Certificate in SmallAnimal Surgery and
undergone residency training, Scott gained the ECVS
Diploma in SmallAnimal Surgery and became a
European Specialist in SmallAnimal Surgery in 2013.
Scott is keen on all aspects of orthopaedics and
spinal surgery, but his main interests lie in complex
fracture management and joint disease, including
joint replacement. He has active research interests
both in clinical research and implant biomechanics.
Resident inVeterinary Neurology
SECOND RESIDENT JOINSTHE NEUROLOGY TEAM
Our neurology team has expanded further with
the recent addition of a second resident, Sinead
Bennett. Sinead has experience of working in
busy small animal practices in both London and
Plymouth, and she recently completed a rotating
Internship at Willows. She is now working towards
becoming a specialist and obtaining the European
Diploma in Veterinary Neurology.
