An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious individual to join our team of four Soft Tissue Surgeons. The successful applicant will hold, or be eligible to sit, an RCVS, European or American Diploma (or equivalent) and share our aim of providing the best possible levels of care for clients, their pets and for referring Veterinary Surgeons. The vacancy will available from December 2019.
At Willows we have an excellent team of support staff who give our clinicians the opportunity to concentrate on their clinical caseload and to work in a pleasant, supportive and good-humoured atmosphere. Facilities include six state-of-the-art operating theatres, a superbly equipped intensive care unit and kennelling for around 100 in-patients. Willows has state-of-the-art diagnostic, monitoring and surgical equipment including GE 1.5T MRI, Siemens 64 slice CT, two in-theatre mobile image intensifiers (C-arm fluoroscopy) with digital subtraction and road mapping capabilities, two digital X-ray rooms and GE ultrasound. Additional equipment includes an extensive range of flexible and rigid endoscopy equipment with full laparoscopic/thoracoscopic capability, Force Triad and advanced bipolar diathermy, Gen-11 harmonic scalpel, ultrasonic aspirator, and a full range of Infiniti Medical equipment for interventional radiology.
Willows offers a full range of soft tissue procedures and is a well-established centre of excellence for the management of upper airway disease, cardiothoracic surgery, urinary incontinence and liver disease including portosystemic shunts. Oncology is a particular speciality for Willows, led by board-certified medical and surgical Oncologists.
Our Soft Tissue Surgeons work alongside Specialists in Medical Oncology, Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia, ECC, Diagnostic Imaging, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Dermatology and Orthopaedics. Our philosophy is very much one of a friendly and collaborative culture between clinicians working across every specialism.
The position will be well remunerated with a fantastic package including six weeks holiday, plus two weeks allowance for funded CPD, a week for approved committee or examining commitments.
