Intern Team

Isabel graduated from the University of Lisbon in 2024, where she completed a curricular internship. She then moved to Preston, working for almost a year and a half in a busy first-opinion hospital before joining the Willows Intern team in 2026.

Whilst Isabel has not yet decided which area she would like to specialize in, she hopes that by undertaking a rotating internship and experiencing the full range of disciplines here at Willows it will help her determine the next steps in her journey.

Isabel has one dog and two cats whom she loves deeply, and in her free time enjoys going to the gym.

Alina graduated from the University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV), Bucharest in 2023 at the top of her class before working for two years in a combined general practice and referral centre in France. She joined the Intern team at Willows in 2026 to further her development as a clinician.

Alina is deeply passionate about Veterinary Medicine, with a particular interest in Internal Medicine as well as Emergency and Critical Care. during her internship, Alina is keen to further expand her knowledge, refine her clinical skills, and develop into a rigorous, well-rounded clinician.

In her spare time, Alina enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her pets, family and friends.

Sara graduated from the University of Milan in 2023. During her studies she completed a one-year internship in obstetric surgery, followed by a further year focused on general surgery and endoscopy.

Sara has been working in the UK in a general practice setting since 2024, where she continued to develop her clinical skills before joining the intern team at Willows in 2026. Sara chose to join the Willows intern programme to gain greater exposure to a wide range of interesting and complex clinical cases, with a particular focus on surgical disciplines.

Sara’s main interests are surgery and endoscopy, and hopes to pursue a surgical residency in the future.

Alongside her veterinary career, Sara is also a qualified yoga teacher with a strong interest in wellbeing.

Marcelina graduated from University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland in 2023. During her studies she completed traineeships in Slovenia, Germany and Spain. Prior to joining the Intern team at Willows Marcelina has also worked as a Feline Behaviourist, running her own company cooperating with veterinarians to help patients with psychosomatic disorders.

Marcelina is particularly interested in Diagnostic Imaging and Soft Tissue Surgery, but is keen to develop in all areas of veterinary medicine during her internship.

In her spare time Marcelina enjoys travelling, DIY projects, camping, sports and listening to true crime podcasts.

Following graduation from the Royal Veterinary College in 2024, James worked for two years in a first opinion small animal practice in Buckinghamshire. During his veterinary studies and time in practice, he developed a particular interest in surgical and emergency cases.

James joined the Rotating Intern team at Willows in 2026, looking to increase his experience in more complex cases and he hopes to specialise in one of his areas of interest in the future.

Outside of work, James loves the outdoors, being a keen runner and climber as well as recently taking up horse riding. He also has a retired racing Greyhound, Mitzy.

Abby graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2023. Following graduation she worked with multiple species as a mixed vet in Nottinghamshire for almost two years, and during this time also gained valuable experience in Out of Hours veterinary care. Abby then went on to travel around South America for three months before returning to the UK to work as a locum, joining the Willows Intern team in 2026.

Abby has previously published a paper on alpaca husbandry practices, although she isn’t expecting to see many at Willows!

Outside of work Abby enjoys hiking, random art projects and has a pet corn snake called Derek.

Originally from Hong Kong, Alexa graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2024. She then worked in a first opinion practice in Solihull for two years before joining the Willows intern team in 2026.

Alexa is interested in all aspects of veterinary medicine and aims to further herself within each discipline of the internship programme whilst determining the next steps of her career.

Outside of work, Alexa enjoys staying active through running, playing tennis and swimming, as well as baking and reading at home with her cat Charcoal.

Following graduation from the University of Glasgow in 2021, Gracia returned home to sunny Singapore where she began her veterinary career in general practice. She then completed a surgical internship at a multi-disciplinary hospital where her love for surgery continued to grow. The experience showed her how the synergistic nature of work across all specialties can elevate patient care and inspired her to pursue a rotating internship to become a better, all-rounded veterinary surgeon.

Gracia continues to pursue her passion, leading her all the way to joining Willows in 2026 where she is excited to learn as much as possible from the team, across all disciplines.

Accompanying her on this journey is her little family from Singapore – her husband and their beloved cat. In her spare time, she enjoys simply spending quality time with them to rest and recharge or can be found bouldering/climbing.

Jordan graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2024. Following graduation, Jordan worked in a busy first-opinion small animal practice in Helensburgh for two years before joining the Willows Intern team in 2026.

 
During his time in university and first-opinion practice, Jordan developed a strong interest in all things Internal Medicine, and is hoping to pursue further training and a residency in this discipline in the future. Jordan is looking forward to working with the Willows team, and developing his knowledge and skills during his internship.

Outside of work, Jordan is an avid hiker, and considers himself an amateur natural historian. He also loves drawing, and has a keen interest in music. He has a pet cat called Buddy, who is living back home in Paisley, who he misses terribly!
