We were delighted with the number (over 300!) and quality of the entries. Drawings, paintings and collages were all entered. It was heart-warming to see how well loved all these pets are.

Willows launches new Internship Program

Willows now offers exciting career opportunities for veterinary surgeons who wish to develop their careers, either through later specialist level training or by providing the foundations for later development in high quality general small animal practice. Successful candidates will be part of a team of four interns working alongside referral clinicians in all of our specialist disciplines.
Applicants will need to have had at least two years post-graduate experience, preferably in general practice.

Willows Student Nurses gain their qualifications

Our first two Student Veterinary Nurses, Danielle Cleverley and Hannah Hindmarch, have both qualified at their first attempt. Danielle and Hannah have both worked in our nursing team during their two year course, and much of their training has been carried out in-house by our qualified Veterinary Nurses and A1 Assessors.

Key-hole soft tissue surgery now available at Willows

Our soft tissue surgeons, Prof. Rob White DSAS (Soft Tissue) DipECVS and Chris Shales DipECVS are pleased now to offer a small incision approach for a variety of procedures including that of ovariectomy (female neutering or 'spay'). Small incision surgery requires the use of specialised equipment, most importantly a variety of rigid endoscopes.

Laura Shaw returns after maternity leave

We are delighted to announce the return of Laura Shaw to her role as Primary Care Clinician. Laura has been on maternity leave after becoming a mum to baby Brigid in early 2009.
Laura is looking forward to working in our new hospital - we were still at Tanworth Lane when she left us. We are sure that those general practice clients who got to know Laura will be very pleased to see her back in the first-opinion clinic.

Internal medicine service now running at Willows

The medicine team at Willows is now offering a complete internal medicine service, fully backed up by other specialists and support staff including those in our state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging facility, as well as others in our anaesthesia and soft tissue surgery teams.
