Visit to Tenacres school
13 July 2010
On Tuesday 13 July 2010, Laura Shaw one of our primary vets, She held an assembly for the whole school talking about the care of pets. The aim was to discuss important issues in the care of all pet species and to bring home the message that all pets need looking after in many different ways.
The children started by singing a lovely and appropriate hymn about the care of all types of animals. They then listened really well to the talk and were keen to join in and tell Laura all about their own pets.
Laura was joined by Goose, her scruffy little mongrel dog. Some of the children, who don't usually have the opportunity to meet dogs, came out to stroke Goose and give him treats. The group included a number of children who previously had been scared of dogs but were won over by Goose's charms!
The team of veterinary surgeons at Willows Veterinary Centre are keen to promote the care and welfare of pets and also discuss the benefits that animals can bring to their owners and to all members of our community.
