Vaccination is a very important component of preventative healthcare for pets as well as humans – without it many of our pets, however well looked after, would either become ill with or die of serious infectious diseases which can be either prevented or made much less serious by the preventative administration of a vaccine.
Dogs, cats and rabbits should all be vaccinated against a number of serious diseases. Courses of vaccination should be started early in life and then be regularly updated by giving booster injections at appropriate intervals. As well as being important in itself, vaccination also offers an ideal opportunity for regular health checks by the vet.
If you would like to learn more about vaccination for your particular pet, please see our more detailed information sheets about vaccination in dogs, cats and rabbits.
