Our general practice (or 'primary clinic') vets and support staff look after all the general day-to-day veterinary needs of the pets belonging to our local clients. Our vets are committed to providing the highest levels of care to their patients and also to their owners – we have longer than average consultations so that the vet can listen to your concerns, take time to examine your pet and then discuss with you in detail what options are available under the circumstances.
We are fortunate in having a superb team of friendly, approachable staff who are dedicated to looking after the animals under their care. All of our staff are fully trained and undergo regular continuing education to ensure that they remain at the forefront in their respective roles.

New puppy or kitten?
Getting a new pet can be an exciting time but it can also be very overwhelming. Why not book an appointment and come and see one of our primary clinic vets who can make sure your new family member is fit and well and give you lots of help and advice about how to go about looking after your new arrival?
All our primary clinic vets have at least ten years experience in veterinary practice and have a love for both dogs and cats. We offer fifteen minute appointments which allow plenty of time to answer any of your questions, weigh and examine your new puppy or kitten. We can advise on vaccinations, worming, flea treatment and dietary requirements, as well as microchipping and travelling abroad with your pet. We can give helpful tips on training and have a general discussion about pet health insurance. We know there can be a lot of information to take in, so we will write all the details down in a personalised puppy or kitten pack, so you don’t need to try to remember everything. We are also available to contact by telephone should you have any queries.
When your pet is six months old we offer a free check up during which we will weigh and examine your pet as well as answering any questions you may have about exercise, diet, neutering, or any other topics that may be of concern to you.
We can also offer a behind the scenes tour of our state-of-the-art facilities where you can meet some of our dedicated staff, so you can be confident that we will take good care of your pet should he or she require treatment with us. We have a vet on the wards looking after our in-patients throughout the night, 365 days of the year including public holidays and weekends, so in the case of an emergency you can contact us and come directly to the clinic rather than worry about travelling somewhere new. Visit our webpage about in-patient care for more information.
Why not come and see us when your new pet’s first or second vaccination is due? We can vaccinate puppies from 8 weeks of age and kittens from 9 weeks. For more information feel free to contact us by telephone. Our website also provides a wealth of information about vaccination, worming, looking after your puppy or kitten and much more!

What our clients say about us...
Superb facility and I felt really assured. Baxter received the best treatment and care. Thank you.
Exemplary facility, excellent service.
Amazing!
Superb all round – even when I was late for my appointment because of traffic on the motorway, staff were accommodating and the vet still saw me. The appointment wasn’t rushed and the vet was patient and attentive.
Very pleased with whole service after being referred.
Delighted to have been referred by our vet.
A very caring and professional practice with very talented and attentive staff. The NHS should pay attention to your work and service.
Both my wife and I were overwhelmed with your organisation and professional approach. Your surgery and its facilities would put much of the NHS to shame. Please continue to provide your excellent service.
Fantastic surgery, only wish it was located closer to us so we could use it more.
Superb, more practices should follow your example!
