Careers at Willows

Neurologist

Due to continued expansion since the opening of our new purpose-built state-of-the-art hospital, an opportunity has arisen for a third neurologist to join our multi-disciplinary team of 25 veterinary surgeons.  The successful applicant will hold, or be eligible to sit, a European Diploma (or equivalent), have had significant exposure to/experience of neurosurgery and share our aim of providing the best possible levels of care for clients, their pets and for referring veterinary surgeons.

We have an excellent team of support staff who give our clinicians the opportunity to concentrate on their clinical caseload and to work in a pleasant, supportive and good-humoured atmosphere. Facilities include six state-of-the-art operating theatres, a superbly equipped intensive care unit and kennelling for over 100 in-patients. Willows has state-of-the-art diagnostic, monitoring and surgical equipment including all-new GE 1.5T MRI, top-end 16 slice CT, in-theatre mobile image intensifier, two digital X-ray rooms (each with Fuji CR), high-end ultrasound and a top quality Nihon-Koden electrodiagnostics unit.

Our neurology Specialists, Sebastien Behr DipECVN and Raquel Monteiro DipECVN, are supported by orthopaedic Specialists Malcolm McKee, Toby Gemmill, Jonathan Pink and Stephen Clarke, in addition to working alongside other Specialists in the disciplines of internal medicine, anaesthesia, imaging, soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology. Our philosophy is very much one of friendly co-operation between clinicians in every specialism.

The position will be well remunerated and the package includes six weeks holiday, two weeks allowance for funded CPD, a non-contributory pension and private healthcare.

Applications and preliminary enquiries from individuals who may wish to commence their employment later in 2012 will be considered.

Should you wish to discuss the position informally, please feel free to telephone either Malcolm McKee or Sebastien Behr on +44 (0)121 712 7070.
